Attar

"Attar" means fragrance or perfume.

Indian Rose Attar
The history of attar and fragrances in India is thousands of years old, and is historically
noted in the "granthas", mythology, and literature. The history of Rose Attar in India is said to originate from the 16th century. Nur Jahan (Noor Jahan), the Mughal Queen and wife of Mughal Emperor Jehangir, created a unique blend and original rose attar. It is said that Nur Jahan created a custom Rose Attar which constituted 50 rose flower varieties combined with five sandalwood oils.

"There is no other sweet and pleasant perfume than the one made from roses...a pure rose has been designated as the 'queen of flowers' for centuries..."

“Ancient rose ritual. Modern beauty.”

While the Rose Attar has a prominent place in perfumery and aromatherapy, the Rose
Oil has a versatile use in the making of candles, cosmetics, perfumes, soaps, fragrance
fresheners, and aromatherapy products. Rose Oil is known for its properties and is
refreshing and soothing. The importance of rose-derived oils and perfumes continue to
dominate the current 21st century perfumery, cosmetics, and aromatherapy industry.

Due to its uniqueness, raw materials, specific distillation process, and aging
process, an Attar can make an incredibly special gift!
